New Zealand artists introduced by our favourite First Night MC Jan-Maree.
We kick start the night with soul and hip hop group THE SHADES, followed by New Zealand’s latest aspiring singer ANNABEL FAY. Next up are two bands that embrace the word ‘fusion’ - THE MAMAKU PROJECT weaving jazz with a french lilt and pacifica dub, and SOLAA with their diverse sound of Hip Hop, Breaks, Funk, Soul, R&B, and Latin flavours. As midnight looms closer the highly charged ten piece band ONE MILLION DOLLARS shakes up the stage and finally Vodafone People’s Choice Award winning band OPSHOP closes 2007.
Enjoy a diverse array of traditional and contemporary dance and music performances from the Pacific Islands, China, India and Korea. Performances styles range from the entertaining BOLLIWOOD DANCERS to the drumming & dancing of TIARE MAORI through to the delicate sounds of GUOZHENG CHINESE CLASSICAL INSTRUMENTS.

Jamie introduces an array of up and coming young stars – from hip hop dance troupe URBAN BEAT to the colourful BOLLIWOOD DANCERS through to the theatre antics of NATIONAL YOUTH THEATRE COMPANY.
